It is home to a diverse community of leading scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and researchers from across the globe, transforming problems and roadblocks into pioneering research and technology prototypes that help move society ahead.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Renewable and Sustainable Energy Research Center</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Conduct scouting activities in Universities and Energy companies to identify research areas/projects.</li><li>Support colleagues in the ASPIRE organization to identify industry and government areas of activity, problem definitions and use cases within Energy Modelling, that lead to research and development projects</li><li>Conduct Energy Modelling research and development based on industry and scientific challenges.</li><li>Interact with TII Renewable and Sustainable Energy Research Center and other departments to create research and development projects within Energy Modelling thematic areas, that leads to patents and intellectual property.</li><li>Deliver Energy Modelling projects, either by management or hands on activity, ensuring they meet with project aims.</li><li>Interact with other TII Renewable and Sustainable Energy Centers and departments to develop data analysis tools and computational modeling. </li><li>Contribute to securing relevant Intellectual Property on the team’s projects.</li><li>Train and mentor junior post-doc and technicians to assist in the projects.</li><li>Produce timely progress reports to management and industrial partners.</li><li>Assist team members with constructive criticisms of manuscripts preparation, rehearsals of talks, etc. </li><li>Contribute to team meetings by reporting ongoing works and giving feedback to colleagues on their progress reports.</li><li>Maintain a technology watch on emerging Energy Modelling trends in their area of expertise and disseminate the relevant information to team members.</li><li>Contribute to outreach activities directed to the public, during science fairs, students’ visits, and for relevant public events.</li><li>Generally, contribute to fostering a friendly, ambitious, impactful and productive team and working environment.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>A minimum of 7 years of experience in conducting research in Energy Modelling or related areas</li><li>A high-level of knowledge of modelling processes for Energy systems</li><li>A high-level knowledge of the energy sector</li><li>An excellent knowledge and skills within Energy Modelling, computer modelling and data science</li><li>Minimum of 7 years of experience as post-doctoral researcher/academic in a relevant field, with relevant high-impact publications.</li><li>Prior responsibilities for training and mentoring students and technical staff.</li><li>Demonstrable abilities for effective English written and oral communication</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>PhD in data science and/or systems modelling, preferably with an emphasis on energy equipment or systems</li><li>Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in a relevant field.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>At TII, we help society to overcome its biggest hurdles through a rigorous approach to scientific discovery and inquiry, using state-of-the-art facilities and collaboration with leading international institutions.
