Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
Manage inventory processes and systems to ensure the efficient delivery of all stores activities, including stock delivery, material storage, stock shipments and the maintenance of optimum stock levels. Evaluate team performance and inventory levels to improve inventory control procedures in order to maintain zero down time. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
• Manage inventory operations in a way that best suits the company’s vision and policies.
• Implement processes for ensuring efficient control of all inventories.
• Perform inventory utilizing the CMMS to manage stock levels and material depletion rates
• Lead investigations to determine root cause and action items associated with variances.
• Oversee receipt and proper storage of warehoused spare parts.
• Control and verify the inventory levels by building and maintaining MINI/MAX policy and regular physical counts and reconciling with the data system.
• Develop and improve the warehouse’s physical conditions:
➢ General cleanliness
➢ Safe organization, layout and design in a way that will ensure maximum space utilization by using 5s criteria.
• Work with the procurement, sourcing, customer service, operations, and finance functions to ensure the organization has an effective process to manage inventory and reduce variances.
• Lead the procurement & stock staff and their daily operations: assign tasks, accordingly, monitoring tasks, and appraise job results.
• Maintain development of procurement & stock staff: recruiting, training, and counselling in accordance with company policies
• Comply to all company policies as well as any governance, state or local requirements/legislation
• Maintain standards of health and safety, and security requirements.
• Develop and report on key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement
• Ensure regular Toolbox talks are delivered to all staff and Safety briefings are attended by all staff
• Participate in weekly Safety Walks, and report any accidents, hazards or dangerous / unsafe behaviour to the line manager. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Suitable university degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration
• Materials handling training and appropriate Health & Safety training
• Related certificates in Warehouse, Supply chain Management, or logistics.
KNOWLEDGE:
• Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
• A working knowledge of a CMMS software
• English – Professional in speaking, reading
• Availability of all necessary soft skills and ability manage staff
• Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite – Excel, Word, Outlook and query tools.
EXPERIENCE:
• Proven work experience in warehouse and supply chain environment
