<strong><u>Description</u></strong><p><br></p>Amazon.sa is looking for a customer focused, team-oriented, and analytical leader to join the other hardlines team managing Tools category.<p><br></p>The Senior Vendor Manager will be responsible for the total P&amp;L, setting the strategy for driving growth, creating strong partnerships with key vendors, adding and inspiring new selection, managing category profitability, optimizing business inputs and outputs, and delivering our vision for our customer experience. This includes identifying potential brand and product business opportunities, building direct relationships with vendors, potential B2B, negotiating contracts, working with strategic vendors to build comprehensive joint business plans and developing collaborative marketing and promotions, and driving sales and margin improvements. The right candidate stays on top of market segment and competitive trends, and is able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level to drive selection, sales, and margin growth. In addition, the Sr Vendor Manager must be an effective leader and communicator internally and externally, spanning vendors, supply chain, marketing, Finance, operations and pricing<p><br></p>The ideal candidate has strong business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management. Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills are musts. They are passionate about building relationships, finding creative solutions to challenging blockers presented in the industry, and launching new brands from scratch. They will have opportunities to drive vendor conversations at the highest level (e.g., CEO, COO) to influence the result. They must be excellent problem solvers, great at identifying potential obstacles, implementing quick work-around solutions, and Inventing and Simplifying tasks to scale. The ideal candidate will be an autonomous self-starter, have strong Ownership, comfortable navigating ambiguity with a Bias for Action, and be able to Deliver Results in a fast-paced business environment where prioritizing and multi-tasking are essential.<p><br></p>Senior vendor manager roles are in the General Management career path at Amazon. This role is an excellent introduction to a wide variety of business functions and provides advancement opportunities to more senior roles in Marketing/Merchandising, Vendor Management, Product Management and Inventory Management.<p><br></p>Key job responsibilities<p><br></p>Key job responsibilities<p><br></p>CUSTOMER FOCUS<p><br></p>Evaluates products and services to continually drive quality of customer experience<p><br></p>Aggregates and escalates industry trends; prioritizes customer obsession<p><br></p>Identifies opportunities to differentiate our customer experience from the opposition<p><br></p>STRATEGY<p><br></p>Develops long-term strategies and influences cross-category buying processes and standards as well as cross-category vendor negotiations<p><br></p>Develops and implements action plans based on deep-dive analysis of product line metrics<p><br></p>Provides recommendation on business opportunities and long-term strategy for multiple sub-categories<p><br></p>VENDOR MANAGEMENT<p><br></p>Expands current vendor selection and secures new brand selection for multiple subcategories<p><br></p>Focuses on strategic holdout or challenging vendors to increase category selection<p><br></p>Drives strategic negotiations to deliver top- and bottom-line category growth<p><br></p>Builds long-term relationships by creating value, opportunities for growth, customer acquisition, and brand-building for multiple vendors<p><br></p>Increases vendor participation through deep knowledge of program opportunities<p><br></p>BUSINESS OPERATIONS<p><br></p>Dives deep into inputs and understands the downstream impact of changes to pricing, selection, and convenience for multiple subcategories.<p><br></p>Owns the Retail P&amp;L for multiple subcategories; develops plans that drive revenue and margin improvement for the business<p><br></p>Creates strategic and prioritized vendor marketing plan that maximizes margin dollars and customer experience<p><br></p>Audits all elements of multiple subcategory businesses<p><br></p>Creates long-term category solutions that automate or simplify category processes<p><br></p>Works with internal technical, cross-category, and tech teams to drive multi-system process changes<p><br></p><strong><u>About The Team</u></strong><p><br></p>About the team<p><br></p>The GCC Other hard lines Vendor Management team manages the relationships with top vendors in the Home, Furniture, Tools, Sports, Major appliances &amp; outdoors.
