Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) Supervisor

Work in Kuwait is contingent upon the applicant’s ability to obtain a work permit from the State of Kuwait, which is requested on the applicant’s behalf by their employer. Effective January 1, 2021, the Kuwait Public Authority of Manpower issued new work permit regulations, informing contractors that it will not issue a work permit to any individual who is fifty-nine (59) years or older and holds a high school grade certificate or less. A two-year college degree or higher is required for all candidates fifty-nine (59) years or older. See Administrative Decision No. (520) of 2020 AD – Amendment to the Administrative Decision No. (552) of 2018 on Issuing the Work Permit Regulations.

Purpose : Oversee APS-5 project Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program under direction of ESH Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
– Provide supervisory oversight of EHS Specialist staff. Supervisory tasks include, but are not limited to, conducting employee orientation and training; assigning work; evaluating performance; counseling and taking corrective action; reviewing and approving time records; reviewing and approving leave requests; resolving complaints; developing the staff; coaching / motivating to establish an effective team; participating in or conducting meetings; preparing reports, plans, and working instructions.
– Responsible for incident reporting and investigation, assistance with developing and implementing corrective actions, conducting work area inspections and assessments, waste minimization, and record keeping.
– Follows injury management guidelines for treating occupational injuries through coordination of local medical facilities and safety leadership.
– Perform all other position related duties as directed.
