"PURPOSE\n\nThe International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people\n\naffected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949.\n\nICRC staff members are the organization's greatest asset in implementing its humanitarian mission to protect and assist people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.\n\nThe PFL FO is part of a larger team to support missing individuals and their families in Jordan, following the strategies and goals outlined in the AMM delegation's OP2 concept note. He/she reports to the PFL delegate.The PFL FO supports in the implementation of activities to support families of the missing, in line with established strategies, priorities, and objectives outlined in the accompaniment program and set Plan of Action(s).\n\nMAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nUnder the supervision and support of the PFL delegate. The main responsibilities, accountabilities and duties are outlined as follows:\n\n\n\tMultidisciplinary response to the needs of families of the missing/Accompaniment program:\n\n\n\n\tConducts home-visits (family situation assessments) to Families of the Missing (hereafter FoM), in view of assessing their needs-protection related or to accompany other departments involved in improving the lives of FoMs.\n\tDefines how some of those needs might be addressed through direct support or through means of referrals.\n\tPlans and takes part in information sessions related to the accompaniment programme.\n\n\n\n\tOutreach and dissemination sessions:\n\n\n\n\tNetworking with stakeholders and humanitarian actors including ICRC’s participation in meetings organised regularly at the camps’ and host communities’ levels.\n\tCollectively plans and implements dissemination sessions on PFL activities of the ICRC in Jordan to Syrian refugee population and stakeholders.\n\n\n\n\tRecontact activity:\n\n\n\n\tFollows up proactively, systematically, and in a timely manner on individual cases internally, with families/enquirers through the recontact activity.\n\tUpdates enquirers on ICRCs action(s) linked to their requests/feedback received from authorities.\n\n\n\n\tJRCS volunteers PFL capacity building:\n\n\n\n\tSupports the PFL capacity of JRCS’s volunteers involved in PFL activities in the camps and host communities through organising workshops, providing support, coaching and on-the-job training in PFL related activities such as the collection of TC/AoAs and the provision of PFL outreach session.\n\n\n\n\tProtecting Family Links:\n\n\n\n\tParticipates in the collection of Syria-related TC and AoA.\n\tParticipates in the provision of other RFL services\n\tAnalyses and reviews PFL need, engaging affected people on the relevance, design, implementation and review of ICRC’s PFL activities in Zaatari, Azraq, and Emirati camps.\n\n\n\n\tData and Caseload analysis\n\n\n\n\tContributes to the data processing in Prot6 of the above-mentioned activities according to the current data entry procedures. Contributes to the institutional efforts to analyse the existing Missing caseload related to the Syria Missing file.\n\n\nGENERAL DUTIES\n\n\n\tBe aware of the delegations’ objectives and activities\n\tUnderstand the three components of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement\n\tApply the security rules at all times\n\tRespect and observe the staff regulations of the ICRC in Jordan\n\tThe employee may be asked to perform other duties not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other departments when and if necessary\n\n\nEDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED \n\n\n\tUniversity degree in a relevant field\n\t3 – 5 years’ work experience in a similar field\n\tHigh level of proficiency in both written and spoken English and Arabic\n\tStrong computer skills, including proficiency in standard office software and the ability to adapt to new digital tools\n\tGood knowledge of geographically assigned environment\n\tStrong analytical skills\n\tValid Driving License\n\n\nWHAT WE OFFER\n\n\n\tAn inspiring professional opportunity in a multicultural and international work environment at the oldest humanitarian organization\n\tCompetitive salary package, including social security coverage, medical insurance and ICRC pension plan\n\tICRC in-house training packages and a budget for external training in accordance with individual development plans (after 2 years of employment)\n\n\nThe ICRC values diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive working environment.
