Overview
Saudi Aramco seeks an experienced and recognized petrophysicist to join the Reservoir Engineering Technology Team with the EXPEC Advanced Research Center (EXPEC ARC) in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The position entails developing, testing, implementing, and deploying new concepts in formation evaluation, reservoir description, and deep diagnostics. The candidate must be able to initiate and lead research projects in reservoir petrophysical applications with specific focus on formation evaluation, multi-phase flow behavior in reservoir rocks, wettability, and saturation modelling. Past experience in petrophysical studies and modelling with a strong track record of field deployment is essential. The position also includes leading technical and multi-disciplinary teams and training junior scientists and engineers. An important aspect of this position is the ability to work closely with our field proponents.
Key Responsibilities
– Conduct comprehensive petrophysical studies by integrating logging, core analyses, rock, fluid and production data for formation evaluation and reservoir characterization
– Develop comprehensive petrophysical models for incorporation into static and dynamic reservoir models for history matching and predictions
– Perform original research in petrophysics using computational methods and experiments
– Initiate, develop and deploy new ideas for logging tools, data acquisition, analysis and procedures in terms of cost and technology
– Specific focus on electromagnetic, resistivity modelling, surface chemistry and wettability for the purpose of reservoir monitoring and saturation quantification
– Lead R&D programs. Able to form and lead multi-disciplinary technical teams. Initiate collaborative research with others, both within and outside the company
– Deploy technologies in the field by working closely with our proponents from reservoir management, description, characterization, simulation, and production engineering
– Guide/mentor young professionals in their technical and professional development
– The \’go-to\’ person in all aspects of petrophysics
