Job Description
Finance Operations Analyst
General
– The Finance Operations Analyst at Fairmont Corporate Office oversees and monitors all activities of the data analytics and data warehousing as it relates to Hotel Finance and Business Support.
– Provides thought leadership and acts as a subject matter expert in the designing and recommending of appropriate analytical approaches and methodology in addressing key issues within the business.
– Leads the Hotel Finance and Business Support data analytics and data warehousing teams in research, development, and implementation of appropriate data systems that lead to improved business performance and achievement of overall business goals.
– Responsible for driving departmental culture and promoting data-driven decision-making, across the business.
– Builds a profile of data and analytics by providing clear data and analytics stories and spreading them across the business. This is in regard to why data work is important, the insights revealed by data analytics, and actions that should follow the data analyses
– Provide support and training to hotel staff on the monthly, budget, forecast and general reporting process.
Strategic
– The role is a strategic one and in this position, the Finance Operations Analyst provides management visibility into data-driven insights that inform the business's strategic direction and KPI's. In this position, also determines the adoption of suitable modular tool-sets that drive innovation and create an advantage for the business. Would support other business executives and departmental leaders in making strategic, data-driven decisions.
Collaborative
– The role of the FOA is a highly collaborative one, will work closely with the senior leadership in an effort to guarantee the delivery of high-quality execution of the diverse array of project deliverables. In this collaboration, he/she also participates in the formulation of data-driven business decisions (how, where, when, which channels, and so forth) and demonstrates delivery against the business's overall objectives
Control and Compliance
– Engage in developing related Standard Operating and Reporting Procedures, providing materials and communication such during P&P updates for Finance & Business Support. Subject matter expert on all aspects of hotel policies and procedures related to Hotel Finance and Business Support analytics.
Financial Planning, Reporting and Analysis
– Analysis: he/she will develop analysis and interpretation of financial data with-in the region and communicating this in a comprehensible form of meaningful variations in the operations. The analysis of the P&L accounts, Key Business Indicators, Key Performance Indicators and balance sheet accounts, HMA compliance calculation, on a selected basis and the review and analysis of the monthly internal benchmarking and operational performance analysis reports. This will enable Senior Leadership to understand such benchmarking and help the Hotels in the region to enhance revenues while improving productivity and cost efficiencies.
– To support and some cases manage such reporting as the annual budget, capital budgets, the rolling forecasts and other ongoing monthly reporting, including but not limited to, Dashboards, Hotel Scorecards, etc.
– Platforms: he/she will develop and establish effective platforms for generating dynamic analysis related to financial planning as well as key business and performance indicators.
– Develop full understanding of platforms being used (i.e. One Stream, Sun, MS Tools, etc.) essentially being a subject matter expert in this area. Especially MS Excel related programming, coding and macro set up expertise is essential
