Voltalia is growing a portfolio of early-stage development Renewables Energy assets in Egypt. Voltalia originates projects from greenfield stage but also regularly, acquires or partners on projects, with a target of delivering utility scale projects to large offtakes in the public and private sector.

Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate would have experience in a renewable energy projects, mainly Solar PV , Wind and Battery storage technology The role mandates frequent interaction with the Voltalia Development, Technical, Project Finance and Legal teams in France, Spain, Portugal, Brazil and other geographies whenever necessary.
The role will require that the candidate offers support for a full project development cycle, from securing land, to permitting, managing consultants, conducting site surveys and visits, engaging with landowners, government and utility stakeholders, EETC, NREA, EGYPTERA, The Sovereign Fund of Egypt , managing project development partners, supporting in competitive bid submissions and building out detailed project budgeting. Regular local travel is a requirement and occasional regional travel is likely.

Key Responsibilities

Assistance to the project development team :
Identify potential sites in Egypt fulfilling the requirements of the company: gradient, hydrology, irradiation, grid connection, technical, environmental and social constraints, etc.;
Prefeasibility and feasibility study :
Support the assessment the energy generation potential, with the support of the Center of Expertise; Support sites visits and assess technical, environmental and social constraints; Support the Identification of potential grid connection point and manage grid connection study;
Relationship with project stakeholders :
Work with the internal and external teams in all the technical, legal and commercial activities necessary for the success of the projects namely Due Diligences, negotiations, technical development, company presentation, etc.; Contribute to Country’s strategic planning and budgeting process; Support Follow up during project development phase with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a continuous information about the project; Follow up project’s application, license, permits, approvals required for the realization of the project; Interact and engage with potential clients, local and regional authorities, national and regional business associations and international business clubs; Maintain and promote values, strength and reputation of company and its business lines in markets of responsibility.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor degree in Management and Business school or Engineer’s degree (Mechanical or Power) Master of Business Administration would be a plus First experience in the Renewable sector is valued Business Development and Sales experience is recommended Arabic and English native speaker mandatory, French is a plus
