Tax Director position

Responsible for articulation and management of NEOM tax strategy and practices across all businesses/sectors, including tax compliance, tax filings, tax accounting, tax reviews of commercial contracts, and supporting businesses by ensuring tax-related matters are appropriately addressed in negotiations with all third parties

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop a tax structuring framework and ensure all taxes are structured for optimization of the tax impact for the organization.
  • Ensure proper calculation, accounting, and recording of all taxes including, VAT, WHT, and Zakat to ensure the accuracy of reported tax figures.
  • Maintain relationships with Tax authorities and keep abreast with the latest changes in tax laws and their impact on the organization.
  • Engage actively with tax authorities and tax advisors to streamline tax matters at NEOM.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings and submissions for VAT, WHT, and Zakat to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee the development of forecasts for tax obligations based on budgets and provide timely inputs to budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow forecasting process.
  • Support the business function of NEOM on any tax-related matters.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all sectors/regions of NEOM are aware of any tax-related update that is related to their focus of business.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new tax-related processes and tools for the sectors/regions of NEOM in order to drive business support

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • 15 or more years’ experience in a similar role preferred with a large real estate, construction, sovereign wealth fund, or investments company (Preferred in KSA)
  • Extensive Knowledge in Zakat, Withholding tax and VAT in relevant industry sectors (Preferred in KSA)
  • Knowledge of tax regulation in KSA

Qualifications Required:

  • Post-graduation degree/diploma or equivalent in financial and management accounting and/or Finance
  • Finance/Accounting certifications/qualifications (CPA, ICAEW, ICAI, ICAP, ACCA, or similar)
