Definition or summary description of the profession

The Store Manager contributes to the definition of the strategy of his store in consultation with the General Management, Purchasing, Marketing, Finance and Human Resources.  He implements all the means to guarantee the application of the commercial policy of the sign and to develop the turnover of his store.  He handles the economic results of his store and their progress.  In coordination with his hierarchy, he steers commercial activity, provides day-to-day administrative and financial management and manages staff by delegating to his team of managers, depending on the size and turnover of the store.

Internal and/or external functional relationships

The store manager is in contact with all the staff of the store and more particularly its management team.  He is also in contact with his management and the centralized services.  Externally, he is in contact with suppliers, subcontractors, local partners, the occupational physician, labour inspection… and customers when he is on the sales floor.

Participate in store master plan

Realize the launch of daily activity

Reporting to management: analyzing and reporting on business activity

Evaluate results against business objectives

Carry out sales, order and inventory forecasts with department managers

Control and validate the implementation of the brand’s commercial strategy

Propose and implement action plans to optimize revenue and margin management

Facilitate meetings to inform and communicate with staff

Enforce the rules and procedures concerning the laws and regulations in force (health and safety, commercial, environment, quality, etc.)

Control the organization and execution of activities in the store

Coordinate actions and delegate to department heads

Develop the skills of its staff

Delegate missions or projects and ensure follow-up

Validate the training plan with human resources

Recruit or validate the recruitment of staff

Conduct assessment interviews

Implement the fixed compensation policy management

Build your budget

Manage your operating account

Guarantee the group’s HR policy

Carry out commercial reporting to management

Ensure the maintenance of the building and equipment related to life safety

Enforce working practices and methods (health and safety, sustainable development policy, etc.)
