Position: Artificial Lift System (ALS) Engineer
Job location: Saudi Arabia
Industry: Oil and Gas
Purpose of the Job:
- To manage shop and installation crew activities to deliver artificial lift installations in KSA, including but not limited to:
- Rod lift
- Plunger lift
- ESP
- Chemical inhibition
- Any other lift mechanism developed or requested by clients
- Site supervisor during installation / de-installation of ALS systems
- Manage and oversee the installation of ALS systems (SRP systems) via continuous and / or conventional rods in live gas wells
- High pressure, critical sour
- Main focal point, and responsible for all personnel and equipment
- Liaison with the company representative on-site, ensuring compliance with all client requirements
- Ensuring the safety of all people on site by adhering to company and client policies and procedures
- Coordination of equipment and logistics planning
- Monitoring inventory and consumable material
- Any operation associated with pulling or running both continuous and / or conventional sucker rod
- Coordinating and planning the day-to-day services and activities.
- Training and making workers aware of the dangers and precautions.
- Compiling detailed reports, spreadsheets, and other relevant paperwork.
- Reporting daily activities and providing the company representative with daily morning reports
- Tracking the usage and inventory of all equipment
- Ensuring that all equipment is serviced and kept in good working condition.
- Managing consumable products, ensuring workers have all the necessary products and tools to carry out the required operation safely and efficiently
- Manage and oversee the installation of ALS systems (SRP systems) via continuous and / or conventional rods in live gas wells
- Other Key roles of the position are as follows:
- Work with supply chain to source the following services in the region and have contingencies for multiple providers:
- Mechanical services
- Hydraulic services
- Electrical services
- Foundation/civil services
- Machining services
- Labor / trucking services
- Any service that compliments or is required for company’s installations.
- Work with supply chain to source the following services in the region and have contingencies for multiple providers:
- Setting up the current workshop and applying continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage and control inventories in KSA
- Work with supply chain for deliveries and receiving goods
- Prepare training for internal and local staff to support installation activities
- Weekly reporting on current activities
- Assist in the delivery of work packages that detail every installation
- SOP/JSA development for installations and other activities
- Provide client requirements for reporting, work plans, and PO tracking activities.
- Ensure costing is accounted for and approved from both field and office level
- Responsible for planning, monitoring, and suggesting control measures to the management, for ongoing and new projects, competence assessment & performance indicators.
- Responsible for implementation of QHSE management for new projects & in relation to contracts.
Experience:
Highly technical with extensive field experience and / or detailed knowledge in the following areas:
- Various forms of Artificial Lift
- Beam Pump
- PCP
- Plunger Lift (casing, tubing, coiled tubing applications)
- Gas Lift
- ESP
- Well automation
- Service equipment and the deployment process for the ALS systems
- Working with critical wells
- High pressure
- Critical Sour
- Well Process Safety
- Well control barriers
- BOP’s
- Well kill procedures
- Well secure drills and procedures
- Managing large-scale projects such as well services, drilling and workover services, coiled tubing, wireline services, and other similar project within Oil and Gas environment.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
- Minimum experience of 15 years in various disciplines of the Oil and Gas industry.
- Including working with high pressure and sour applications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Saudi Arabia
- Excellent understanding of Aramco policies and procedures
- Project Management training or experience.
- Must have a high knowledge in computers, specifically MS Office.
