Job Description
– Assisting Physician/s in all procedures.
– Provides total, direct nursing care consistent with the plan of care and needs of the patient’s privacy, dignity, personal preference and culture.
– Transcribe physician’s orders and reviews nursing and medical orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
– Performs wide range of injection procedures with attention to accuracy, patient safety and comfort, including those requiring strict aseptic technique.
– Maintains a safe, clean and organized environment for the patient.
– Demonstrates priority setting skills and timeliness in responding to patient needs.
– Carries out doctor’s orders with accuracy and in timely manner; clarifying orders from the physician.
– Double checks with co-nurse for any dosage calculation of high-risk medications.
– Pre procedure process will be discussed and explained to the clients.
– Post Procedure guidelines must be explained thoroughly to the client
– Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
– Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions.
– Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions.
– Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
– Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
– Direct and supervise less skilled nursing/health care personnel or supervise a unit on one shift.
– Observe nurses and visit patients to ensure that proper nursing care is provided.
– Administer local anaesthetics, if needed.
