Job Description
Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing the radiology section of the Primary Healthcare Centre in terms of supervising day-to-day activities, preparing assessment and diagnostic reports for Physicians and other healthcare professionals, and overseeing taking radiographic images by Radiology Technologists.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Radiology Activities
- Organize and oversee all radiology activities (covering X-Ray and Ultrasound), and ensure radiologic operations are safe at all times.
- Analyze records, reports, test results or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patients, and suggest best fit medical treatment upon such results.
- Prepare assessment and diagnostic reports with the findings summarizing patient diagnostics.
- Recommend treatment options based on identified case and radiographic images and discuss treatment options with clinical Physicians.
- Conduct physical examinations to patients; in order to assess general physical condition and make decisions about appropriate procedures.
- Observe patients and equipment during procedures, report unusual occurrences and record patient’s
- Provide counseling to radiologic patients; in order to explain the processes, risks, benefits, or alternative treatments.
- Assist the Radiologic Technologists (X-Ray & Ultrasound) in the desired techniques, positions, or projections, and ensure that the radiographic diagnostic doesn’t affect the patient’s medical treatment or increase illness case.
- Process images accordance to guidelines and photographic techniques, and perform quality control activities to ensure optimal quality radiographs.
- Coordinate radiological services with other healthcare professionals to plan or provide treatment as per the medical care and treatment required.
- Adjust equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
- Adhere to the guidelines and practice standards pertaining to the area of radiographicpractice, and ensure the adherence by all Radiologic Technologists.
- Manage the implementation of the internationally recognized radiation safety protocols.
Skills
- Graduate Degree In Medicine , Master Degree / Doctor in Radiology ( MD ) OR Equivalent.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in the same field from which 4 years must be after MD degree.
