Job Description
Retail Strategy Development & Implementation
- Assist in the development of growth strategies to identify and develop new market segments for Intangible Cultural Heritage handicraft (ICH) products
- Support policy creation needs to support economic sustainability for artisans and the sector
- Design a workplan as per the retail strategy that includes product development, sourcing, distribution, pricing, and marketing and selling
- Implementation of initiatives related to the retail strategy
Product & Market Development
- Design a pricing strategy for the handicraft retail sector to advise organizations and artisans on how to increase cost-efficiency and price competitiveness
- Enhance customer experience to boost sales within existing and future retail platforms and channels
- Identify new opportunities through research and analysis on competitiveness, trends and buying patterns
- Assist in the development and implementation of other commercial strategies for ICH, this includes specific heritage products that include culinary and experiences
Sales & Merchandising
- Assist in the development and operations of handicraft retail platforms, and other potential commercial platforms for ICH
- Manage and optimize inventory processes and systems
- Develop and implement merchandising and operational plans
- Manage planning of sales based on customer demand, supplies and stock level
- Track sales and monitor retail performance against targeted objectives and KPIs
Sourcing & Partnerships Development
- Source suppliers, negotiate terms of contract, commissions, and payment terms
- Build and maintain the relationship with NGOs and artisan community representatives with a key focus on needs and potential impacts
- Create and manage partnerships with key partners with high sales potential
Organizational Development & Management
- Develop and continuously improve retail processes and standards
- Develop section plan that includes objectives, strategic initiatives and KPIs as per the departmental plan
