Job Description

The Regulatory Affairs Manager works closely with the Head of Department to monitor the company’s activities and ensures compliance with applicable regulations and standard operating procedures within the countries of operation. The Regulatory Affairs Manager is responsible for overseeing licensing, driving legal studies, opinions, and consultancies, endorsing contract and agreement drafts for final sign-off, and ensuring proper representation of ZainTech in a court of law.

Responsibilities:

Strategic

  • Develops strategies to ensure the company’s activities comply with government regulations.
  • Contributes to the development of Governance, Risk and Compliance business plans in line with ZainTech strategy.
  • Develops the operational plan and goals for the team.
  • Implement plans and provide input and recommendations when needed.
  • Participates in the team’s annual budget planning cycle and process.
  • Manages operational plans efficiently and within budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.

Operational

  • Serves as a liaison between regulatory bodies and operating divisions of the company.
  • Responds to requests for information from regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinates with operations departments regarding the products and services go to market technical model to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Assists with the development of standard policies and procedures for the company.
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulations applicable to the company.
  • Monitors regulatory affairs and the effect changes will have on company operations.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships in federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Implements Governance, Risk and Compliance policies and procedures covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high impact and achieving results effectively and efficiently
  • Monitors day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures.
  • Remains abreast of regulatory leading practice and new trends, and identify recommendations for corrective measures, updates and improvements where required.
  • Oversees evaluation of contracts / agreements requests to provide recommendations and advice on contract content and provisions
  • Endorses contract and agreement drafts for final sign-off with respective stakeholders.
  • Drives communication of new / amended policy documents to ensure proper circulation and awareness of changes in coordination with concerned stakeholders
  • Oversee the impact assessment of new policy documents and ensure issues and areas of concern are addressed in a timely manner.

People Management

  • Manages, guides and assists team to perform operations in accordance with set policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources function to support in the identification and recruitment of employees for the team.
  • Set performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate / appraise incumbents and provide regular feedback on performance.

  • Encourages team and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
