Rail Competence Centre Operator

Global Forwarding Freight – United Arab Emirates has an opening for a Rail Competence Centre Operator where you will process domestic and cross border road freight shipments.  Join us now in connecting people and improving lives.

In this Rail Competence Centre Operator position

  • You will arrange bookings based on customer requirements with various nominated third parties to ensure customer needs are met.
  • You will process customer and customs documentation within a required timeframe in accordance with third party and local requirements i.e. customs, trade law, carriers.
  • You will co-ordinate with RailDirect (JV of DGF and ER) for timely update of train schedule, booking confirmations and co-ordinate with custom clearance team for green light process for customer.
  • You will co-ordinate movement of cargo within required/stipulated time frames in order to meet customer needs.
  • You will manage and monitor all parties within the supply chain, develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers and prepare specific customer reports whenever required.
  • You will be responsible for the timely & amicable settlement of customer issues.
  • You will support the Head of Road Freight with, negotiation & maintenance of supplier rates and contracts, new/change of systems, directives.
  • You will Build and maintain relationships with Customs and transporters for GCC trucking.
  • You will receive and accept transport orders from customers and create shipment in DGF TMS- CW1 and get booking confirmation from Rail Direct Team.
  • You will Book shipment with transporter on time for either domestic operations or cross border operations.
  • You will update shipment status in DGF system, Customer through Email and other parties.
  • You will arrange vehicle slot scheduling with Etihad Rail terminal(ICAD/JART) or RailDirect terminal (GTT).
  • You will arrange customs clearance based on customer documentation, follow green light process, communication with border agents for timely and correct clearance.
  • You will ensure customer’s documents for border clearance are as per Origin/destination customs requirements.
  • You will ensure all movements done as per Country customs compliance.
  • You will follow up PODs (proof of delivery) with transporters on ESP (E-POD).
  • You will supply carrier with transport order/ instructions.
  • You will send Pre-alerts to customer / destination offices.
  • You will invoice shipment based on estimate or rate agreements.
  • You will supply estimates on customer / sales request.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
  • 1 to 3 years working experience in road freight industry
