Job Description
Rackspace is a leading multi cloud service provider, commissioned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to assure the build of a sovereign multi tenant private cloud that Rackspace have designed.
- Rackspace will fulfil 3 strategic functions, led by the Programme Director, as part of a 3 year programme, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:
- 1/Design and Build Assurance – Overseeing the plans, schedule and build of 20 vendors, individually deploying to install and configure their infrastructure, according to the schedule and standards laid down by Rackspace
- 2/CMP Development – Designing, Building and releasing MVPs into service which allow firstly administration functions to be created and utilised, leveraging automation, and subsequently building in further automation and service controls
- 3/ Strategic Advisory – Against a designed TOM laid down by Rackspace, supporting the mobilisation of resources, executing a training strategy, and providing expertise to build out the cloud management office
Accountabilities
- Rackspace director grade resources are hands on, with skills and experience within their specific domains, able to identify core products, produce them, and work with other organisational SME’s to deliver an appropriate solution where those other SMEs have products that contribute to the end solution. The Rackspace director would benefit from a history of consultancy, mixed domain delivery and both business and technical solution delivery history.
- The Programme Director will assume lead accountability for the end to end delivery of the Private Cloud, leading, managing and directing a multi skilled and multinational team of architects, process specialists and SMEs.
- The Rackspace lead will be responsible and accountable for the financial, commercial and delivery success over the 3 year term of this engagement. It will be a core requirement that all approaches will be laid out, explained, controlled, governed and executed according to best practice standards and customised for pragmatic adoption based on a combination of Rackspace lessons learnt and constraints within the client environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and control the master plan
- Ensure the delivery of the governance capability, controls and reporting integrity to include, meeting minute creation and storage, risk management, decisions log, gap analysis register etc
- Lead the engagement with the customer
- Identify and manage all stakeholders
- Manage and direct the team according to the technical and business priorities
- Ensure the creation, deployment and efficient management and control of all vendor builds and adherence to build principles
- Managing the resources and logistics including accommodation, scheduling and budgetary controls
- Commercially assess the viability of each change and negotiate and explain decisions made
- Work with the Client executive to manage all and any out of scope requirements and new opportunities
Person Specification
- A hands on Programme director with deep seated delivery experience of technical, process and people solution components
- Comprehensive experience of transition and transformation methods and experience
- Practical understanding of methods, techniques and processes to evaluate, explain and deploy hybrid method solutions (AGILE V WATERFALL, Stand ups v checkpoint, waterfall strategic reporting v agile sprint updates)
- Consultancy background with extensive track record across solutions, vision creation and translation into practical delivery steps
- PRINCE, PMP, MSP, AGILE qualified through accreditation or track record and exposure
- Audit and compliance aware
- Security and data protection issues aware
- An accomplished communicator, both orally and in writing
