Position Description
We are seeking an experienced VAT Advisor for our tax and benefits practice area within the Law Organization of Saudi Aramco.
Law is responsible for providing legal counsel and advisory services to Aramco’s business units, subsidiaries and joint ventures.
Saudi Aramco’s Law Organization is growing in response to a broad corporate initiative that involves the continued growth of its exploration, production, refining and marketing, along with expansion into petrochemicals, renewables, power and other sectors of the energy business.For adventurous individuals who are interested in working at one of the world’s most successful companies, Saudi Aramco offers challenging and sophisticated in-house opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
The VAT Advisor’s duties and responsibilities will include:
Providing indirect tax advice to other attorneys and internal clients by analyzing facts and conducting legal research, preparing legal analysis and opinions, and advising and making recommendations to Company management regarding indirect tax issues.
Reviewing current legislation, treaties, and governmental regulations pertinent to Company operations and advising Law Organization management and senior-level attorneys with regard to the same.
Assisting and coordinating with outside counsel and accounting firms with respect to ongoing transactions, as well as providing responses to inquiries raised in connection with indirect tax examinations of Saudi Aramco and its subsidiaries.
Minimum Requirements
You must have a minimum of five years of experience working for a leading law firm such as the Big Four accounting firm and/or an in-house tax department of a multinational company in the field of indirect tax.
You must be a licensed attorney, certified public accountant, chartered accountant, chartered tax advisor, or have an equivalent qualification.
An LL.M. in Taxation, Master of Business in Tax or the equivalent is a strong plus.
Having an experience in energy industry (oil and gas, petrochemical, power or oil field services) or experience with indirect taxes in Saudi Arabia, or another member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), is also a plus.
