Job Description
A Registrar of ENT (Otorhinolaryngologists or ear, nose and throat) deals with the diagnosis, evaluation and management of diseases of head and neck and principally the ears, nose and throat, under the supervision of a Consultant/ Specialist
Responsibilities of an ENT Registrar includes:
- Observes and records patient history, physical examination, and plan of management in the clinic under the direct supervision of a Consultant.
- Treats conditions of the ears, upper pharynx, and oral cavity, larynx, nose, face, and neck
- Treats nosebleeds, tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, infected mastoids, and sinusitis.
- Assists patients with a limited or altered sense of smell.
- Treating patients with tumors in the head or neck or patients with a defect in the ear, nose, or throat.
- Examines in-patients, takes a history of examinations and records all data in the patient’s file.
- Develops a differential diagnosis and treatment plan for every in-patient.
- Collaborating with other medical practitioners.
- Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.
- Promotes and participates in the departmental and hospital educational and training programs and clinical audits.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Medicine followed by Masters’ Degree in relevant specialty.
- At least two to three years of clinical experience in a hospital setting, post Masters
- Licensing: Valid License from Ministry of Health-Kuwait to practice as a Registrar of Gastroenterology (preferred)

- Knowledge of Required Organizational practices/patient safety standards.
- Command over professional code of ethics, medical bylaws.
- Culturally competent (Kuwaiti patients’ culture and beliefs).
