We strongly believe that world-class talent makes no distinction with respect to gender, ethnic or national origin, sexual identity and orientation, age, religion or disability, but rather is enriched by these differences.<br><br><strong>Senior Legal Counsel –Dispute Resolution, </strong><strong>Middle East<br><br></strong>If you are a business minded, creative, collaborative corporate legal leader who embraces challenge, is interested in novel, complex issues, and seeks trusted-advisor relationships, this is an exciting opportunity for you to join SNC-Lavalin a fully integrated professional services and project management company with offices around the world dedicated to engineering a better future for our planet and its people.<br><br>We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel – Dispute Resolution, Middle East with deep formal dispute management experience in construction and engineering services matters to be responsible for SNC-Lavalin’s dispute resolution activities in the Middle East.<br><br><strong><u>Main Responsibilities<br><br></u></strong>In this role you will be reporting to the Senior Director and Head of Litigation UK&E, MEA and APAC and will be responsible for:<br><ul><li>Together with the Dispute Resolution leadership, help shape the dispute resolution strategy for SNC-Lavalin in the Middle East.</li><li>Ensure that material litigation and arbitration in the region have strategy roadmaps, are appropriately resourced internally (commercial and legal), have well managed budgets and workplans to ensure greater likelihood of expected outcomes.</li><li>Thoroughly understand, consult on, and provide proactive advice regarding complex litigation, arbitration or regulatory matters in the Middle East and provide mitigation strategies.</li><li>Advise on potential, and future legal risks or regulatory issues in the region.</li><li>Regular reporting and updating on status of all claims and dispute matters in the region.</li><li>Partner with and efficiently manage outside counsel and other legal service providers.</li><li>Serve as a subject matter expert with respect to dispute resolution and strategies in the Middle East.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Candidate Profile<br></u></strong><ul><li>Legal degree and member of a local bar association in good standing required, engineering or management degree or related educational credentials an asset.</li><li>Minimum of 10 years’ experience in litigation and arbitration whether inhouse or in private practice, along with other large complex construction projects experience.</li><li>Strong work ethic, superior organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under time constraints and work well independently and as a collaborative team member.</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to centering diversity and equity in executing key responsibilities.</li><li>Demonstrated success serving as a leader within a fast-paced results driven organization.</li><li>Demonstrated success building and ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders and lead through influence.</li><li>Emulates the SNC-Lavalin Legal Team’s “Expected Behaviors”.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve.</li><li>Confidence and leadership with humility.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.<br></li></ul><strong><u>We Offer<br></u></strong><ul><li>A full range of benefits.</li><li>A virtual health care service.</li><li>Reimbursement of professional dues.</li><li>Skills development opportunities.</li><li>An internal procedure to encourage a hybrid way of working.</li></ul>
