Job Description

Eta Wireless is solving the fundamental problem of power consumption in mobile devices. Eta Wireless was acquired by Murata in September 2021 and is productizing ETAdvanced technology for mobile devices. We believe in a wireless future. A future where you don’t need to worry about the battery status of your devices. Our ETAdvanced technology will significantly extend the battery life for smartphones, wearables and IoT devices to make running out of power a thing of the past.

General Summary

The Digital Design Engineer designs, documents, and verifies the RTL interface to integrate Eta’s DSP core into the customer’s transceiver ASIC. This engineer is responsible for some level of customer-facing discussion on integration topics (e.g. agreeing on interfaces, resolving bugs in verification) and also preparing and supporting deliverables. The successful candidate will have a strong industry background in RTL design (Verilog, System Verilog) and have experience delivering soft IP packages to an internal or external customer.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Create innovative new solutions to signal processing challenges specific to RF transmit front end, for example crest-factor reduction, digital pre-distortion, coefficient estimation, and supply modulation algorithms.

Communicate with RF Systems engineers to understand and work within the digital supply modulation platform.

Develop, analyze, and optimize algorithms in simulation, and implement algorithms using tools e.g. Matlab and Simulink.

Optimize floating point prototype algorithms for optimal implementation in fixed point RTL.

Work closely with digital design engineers to prototype algorithms in FGPA for hardware verification.

Highly organized, create and maintain documentation and results.

Create, document, and protect IP with trade secret documentation and patent applications.

Required Qualifications

PhD with five years minimum experience.

Strong theoretical background in mathematics and digital signal processing.

Familiar with RTL implementation of fixed-point multi-rate and general DSP blocks.

Algorithms for envelope tracking system of RF PA, digital pre-distortion of RF PA, DAC/ADC, noise-cancelling, or other similar real-time datapath applications.

Floating point algorithm design and simulation using Matlab.

Create Simulink models as a guide for optimal RTL implementation.

Use of high-level synthesis (HLS) tools (e.g. Simulink) to generate production-grade RTL.

Travel

Infrequent
