<strong>Summary</strong><p><br></p>As a Hydrogen Process Simulation Specialist, your main responsibility is to develop, optimize, and analyze hydrogen-related processes using advanced simulation tools and techniques. You will play a vital role in designing and improving the efficiency of hydrogen production, storage, distribution, and end-use applications. Your models will be used to calculate efficiencies, yields, and other key metrics to be used by the overall Hydrogen Technology and Innovation department, to find technology bottlenecks where innovation could play a role.<p><br></p><strong>Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Process Modeling and Simulation: Utilize specialized software and tools to create dynamic process models for hydrogen and e-fuels production, purification, compression, liquefaction, storage, and various end-use applications. This includes evaluating different process configurations and operating conditions to identify optimal designs. </li><li> Performance Optimization: Analyze simulation results to identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Working closely with technology experts, energy models, and end-use teams to find the right configuration and technology. </li><li> Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies for new hydrogen projects and technologies. Evaluate with the T&I team technical and economic viability, assess risks, and provide recommendations to stakeholders. </li><li> Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in hydrogen technologies and process simulation techniques. Collaborate with research teams to explore innovative approaches and contribute to developing new hydrogen-related processes. </li><li> Data Analysis: Analyze experimental data from pilot plants or full-scale facilities to validate and calibrate process simulation models. Use data-driven insights to improve model accuracy. </li><li> Training and Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance and training to colleagues and engineering teams on process simulation methodologies and best practices. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Background, Skills</strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Degree (Bachelor to PhD) in engineering, chemistry, or mathematics. </li><li> Proven experience in process simulation using software such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, AVEVA, COMSOL, or equivalent. </li><li> Experience on simulating green hydrogen production with electrolyzers, and e-fuels </li><li> Familiarity with various hydrogen storage and distribution technologies. </li><li> Knowledge of thermodynamics, transport phenomena, numerical methods, and understanding of machine learning and AI. </li><li> Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions. </li><li> Eager to learn new software, related to both process simulation and logistics, </li><li> Effective communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. </li><li> Experience in the hydrogen industry or a related field is a plus. </li><li> Programming experience is a plus</li></ul>
