<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><p>The Senior Landscape Architect leads the delivery of medium to high-complexity landscaping design projects. He works closely with Project Managers and design teams to develop different landscape design options and refine selected designs across the project design cycle, including conceptual landscape designs, preliminary and final detailed designs, and tender documents for medium to high-complexity landscape projects.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Develop different landscape design options for projects of medium complexity, in coordination with Urban Designers, Urban Planners, Architects, Irrigation Engineers, and other relevant design teams, as needed</li><li>Develop alternative conceptual landscape designs for projects of medium complexity reflected in the form of plans, sections, mood boards, perspectives, and material boards, as appropriate</li><li>Develop comprehensive technical reports, detailing design concepts and soft scape components, irrigation systems, cost estimates, etc.</li><li>Support client workshops and presentations, as needed, to select the most appropriate landscape design options</li><li>Refine selected landscape design options into preliminary and final detailed designs, for projects of medium complexity in coordination with other design disciplines, including the development of required drawings and graphical materials, as needed</li><li>Conduct design value engineering in coordination with the Project Managers, as needed</li><li>Develop landscape tendering documents and closely work with the Quantity Surveying Department for the development of final specifications, landscape palettes, Bills of Quantities, and Conditions of Contract</li><li>Support the tender process, including responding to bid queries and evaluating bids, as required</li><li>Provide technical assistance, as needed, during the supervision phase, including solving design conflicts, conducting site visits, and reviewing shop drawings, in close coordination with local design support teams</li><li>Support Project Managers in validating design deliverables with clients and authorities, as needed, capturing feedback, and obtaining approvals</li><li>Review and conduct design checks for designs, in coordination with Landscape Architects</li><li>Conduct data collection from all concerned entities in collaboration with local teams, including climate, meteorology, soil specifications, water sources, local species, natural hazards, etc.</li><li>Develop a data inventory system and archive necessary data to share with project team members, as needed</li><li>Analyze collected data and identify main design constraints and key challenges, and periodically meet with design teams of other specializations to integrate landscape design constraints, as needed</li><li>Produce data collection report for projects of medium to high complexity, highlighting all collected and missing data</li><li>Conduct site surveys, inspections, and investigations, as needed</li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills </strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture</li><li>A Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture is preferred</li><li>8+ years of industry experience in landscape design in a leading engineering consultancy firm or a boutique landscaping firm</li><li>Proficient in Revit and BIM 360</li><li>Exposure to a variety of landscaping projects</li><li>Exposure to conceptual landscape planning and eco-system management</li><li>Exposure to Sustainability concepts</li><li>Exposure to global best practices and trends in landscaping design</li><li>Good knowledge of horticulture and irrigation</li><li>Excellent graphic design skills</li><li>Good analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Good communication and presentation skills</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills</li><li>Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic</li></ul>
