<p><strong>Roles and Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Making decisions involving animal husbandry, diets, capture and restraint procedures, enrichment activities, animal transportation, and research projects.</li><li>Establishing protocols for animal husbandry, breeding programs and population management in the park.</li><li>Responsible for selection and acquisition of new animals for the collection as well as to formulate the Institutional Collection Plan.</li><li>Liaise with other institutions and zoos worldwide in regard to animal exchanges, regional breeding plans and cooperation of research and partnership.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining the database of animal record keeping (daily reports, ZIMS and internal stock list, animal diets, food orders, safety inspections, daily animal rounds and daily reports to the Head of Life Sciences).</li><li>Supervise in Exhibit and Holding design for the animals in the park to ensure the integrity and suitability of the animal areas.</li><li>Involved directly in preparing and administrating applicable annual budgets for the department.</li><li>Along with the operations and safety department, initiate the emergency response team and is involved directly in tackling any animal emergencies within the park.</li><li>Ensuring the facility meets all state and federal regulatory requirements as well as the standards of zoological associations worldwide.</li><li>Directly involved in conservation research programs for our client.</li></ul>
