<strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree with a valid teaching certificate/license in elementary education and/or related field.</li><li>A minimum of two years, current, full time related teaching experience.</li><li>Teaching experience in an American curriculum school preferred.</li><li>IELTS or TOFEL for non-native teachers (6.5 for subjects taught in English & 7.5 for English subject).</li><li>Experience with current best practices, current teaching materials, and current instructional strategies as well as recent professional growth activities.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Duties And Responsibilities</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Teach all areas of the elementary curriculum.</li><li>Establish and enforce rules for behavior, policies and procedures to maintain order among students.</li><li>Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.</li><li>Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests.</li><li>Read books to entire classes or to small groups.</li><li>Provide a variety of materials and resources for students to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.</li><li>Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.</li><li>Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students’ behavioral and academic problems.</li><li>Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their students’ progress, and to determine their priorities for their students and their resource needs.</li><li>Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.</li><li>Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.</li><li>Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.</li><li>Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development such as games, arts and crafts, and storytelling.</li><li>Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of ADEK/KHDA and schools.</li><li>Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic problems, or special academic interests.</li><li>Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.</li><li>Identify students showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, and discuss them with supervisors, parents or guardians, and SEN Dep.</li><li>Assimilate arriving students to the school environment by greeting them and selecting activities of interest to them.</li><li>Maintain accurate and complete student records, and prepare reports on students and activities, as required by ADEK/KHDA and School.</li><li>Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play, learning and motor-skill activities, and safety.</li><li>Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of the elementary programs.</li><li>Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students’ progress.</li><li>Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress.</li><li>Organize and label materials and display students’ work in a manner appropriate for their sizes and perceptual skills.</li><li>Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants.</li><li>Administer standardized ability and achievement tests, and interpret results to determine students’ developmental levels and needs.</li><li>Prepare for assigned classes, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisors.</li><li>Utilize different types of technology in the classroom in order to create meaningful learning experiences for students of all ages.</li><li>Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests, or other experiential activities, and guide students in learning from those activities.</li><li>Attend professional meetings including staff meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve performance and serve on committees as required.</li><li>Perform break duties as scheduled by the section’s administrators.</li><li>Perform administrative duties such as assisting in school libraries, play areas and cafeteria monitoring, and during the bus timings.</li><li>Work collaboratively with colleagues and superiors.</li></ul><p><br></p>Job Types: Full-time, Permanent<p><br></p><strong><u>Ability To Commute/relocate</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>
