<strong>Overview / Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p>Wood is currently recruiting for a CSU Electrical Engineer to strengthen our team in Basra, Iraq on a daily work 6/1<p><br></p>We will only consider applications from local Iraqi nationals preferably residing in Basra<p><br></p>The PCCSU OPS & Energization Liaison Engineer plays a crucial role in managing the operations and energization of PCCSU equipment and systems. The PCCSU is an essential component of power distribution systems, responsible for connecting multiple power sources to the grid while maintaining the stability and integrity of the electrical network As the PCCSU OPS & Energization Liaison Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation and energization of PCCSU equipment, coordinate with various stakeholders and provide technical support during the entire process<p><br></p>Key Responsibilities<p><br></p>Operations Management<p><br><br></p><ul><li> Monitor and oversee the day-to-day Client operations of the PCCSU equipment and systems </li><li> Conduct regular inspections, performance evaluations, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality </li><li> Implement preventive maintenance programs and develop procedures to address equipment malfunctions or failures </li><li> Collaborate with Client operations teams to develop operational strategies and guidelines for the PCCSU <br></li></ul><p><br></p>Energization Planning and Execution<p><br><br></p><ul><li> Develop energization plans for PCCSU installations, upgrades, or modifications in coordination with the project manager, Project engineering teams, and other relevant stakeholders </li><li> Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential hazards or challenges associated with energization activities </li><li> Coordinate with grid operators, utilities and Iraq regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with safety standards regulations, and operational protocols </li><li> Prepare detailed energization procedures including switching sequences, isolation measures, and contingency plans. </li><li> Provide technical expertise during the energization process, ensuring proper coordination and communication between all involved parties <br></li></ul><p><br></p>Stakeholder Coordination<p><br><br></p><ul><li> Collaborate with internal teams including project managers design engineers and field technicians to ensure effective communication and alignment of objectives </li><li> Liaise with external stakeholders such as grid operators power utilities contractors and regulatory agencies to coordinate activities and resolve operational issues </li><li> Participate in meetings site visits and technical reviews to provide updates address concerns and seek input from stakeholders </li><li> Act as the primary point of contact for inquiries, clarifications, and information related to PCCSU operations and energization activities <br></li></ul><p><br></p>Documentation and Reporting<p><br><br></p><ul><li> Maintain accurate records of PCCSU operations, maintenance activities, and energization procedures </li><li> Prepare reports, technical documentation, and performance metrics to assess operational efficiency, compliance, and reliability </li><li> Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for PCCSU operations and energization <br></li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Skills / Qualifications</strong><p><br><br></p><ul><li> Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field </li><li> Strong knowledge of power systems electrical distribution, and switchgear operations </li><li> Experience in the design operation or maintenance of PCCSU equipment is highly desirable </li><li> Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations and safety protocols </li><li> Proficiency in using power system analysis software and related tools </li><li> Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues </li><li> Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders </li><li> Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively </li><li> Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation </li><li> Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing project requirements or priorities <br></li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Company Overview</strong><p><br></p>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
