Perform a variety of administrative functions that ensure charges are collected, posted and charged as necessary.<p><br></p><strong><u>Position Responsibilities</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Answer multi phone lines and return messages in a timely manner </li><li> Accurately enter patient demographics and insurance information </li><li> Accurately learn each physician’s protocol and apply during scheduling </li><li> Accurately triage and schedule patients with the correct physician </li><li> Accurately maintain physician schedules to include canceling and rescheduling </li><li> Maintain effective oral/written communication with patients, physicians and staff concerning patient appt needs </li><li> Request records and prepare for physician review </li><li> Collect prepayments when required for an appointment </li><li> Collect on all outstanding balances or balances that are in collections prior to scheduling appointment. </li><li> Accurately prepare and initiate daily call reminder system </li><li> As schedule requires, monitor various office equipment for incoming records and file for upcoming appt. </li><li> Assist Office Manager on daily procedures. </li><li> Open and distribute mail. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Experience:</strong> Six (6) months experience working in a medical office setting required. Knowledge of AthenaNet and medical terminology preferred.<p><br></p><strong>Education</strong>: High School Diploma or equivalent required.<p><br></p><strong><u>Required</u></strong><p><br></p><strong>Special Qualifications</strong>:<p><br></p><ul><li> Must have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements. </li><li> Must have knowledge of the health care field and medical specialty. </li><li> Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) </li><li> Travel is required. </li></ul><p><br></p>The Hughston Clinic, The Hughston Foundation, The Hughston Surgical Center, Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics, Hughston Medical and Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital participate in E-Verify.
