<strong>Position:</strong> Site Conservation Senior Manager<p><br></p><strong>Reports to:</strong> Heritage Director<p><br></p><strong>Sector:</strong> Heritage<p><br></p><strong>Job Location:</strong> Sharma, KSA<p><br></p><strong>Role Purpose: </strong><p><br></p>Lead and manage the cultural heritage conservation activities and procedures in NEOM Region, primarily the conservation of heritage sites, as well as provide required feedback and suggestions in order to achieve a maximum efficiency in the allocation of resources, time and costs.<p><br></p><strong>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES &amp; ACTIVITIES:</strong><p><br></p><strong>Managerial Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Contribute to the Section’s short- and long-term strategy from the Department’s perspective, in line with NEOM’s overall vision and mission.</li><li>Develop the Section’s strategy, objectives, KPIs annual operational plans and ensure plan execution is meeting the targets.</li><li>Prepare and submit the Section’s annual budget for approval taking all planned activities and necessary investments into consideration by monitoring the financial performance.</li><li>Oversee the development, maintenance, implementation and adherence of the Section policies and procedures as well as the overall performance of the Section and ensure KPI’s are well developed, cascaded, communicated and monitored.</li><li>Ensure effective staffing, professional development and deployment of staff of the Section in consultation with the Sector Executive or (Executive) Director.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>BACKGROUND, SKILLS &amp; QUALIFICATIONS:</strong><p><br></p><strong>Functional Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Develop the vision, objectives, strategies, policies, processes, guidelines and action plans for the conservation of heritage sites and archaeological excavations based on assessments of the features, monuments, sites, areas and landscapes.</li><li>Lead the conservation work including the removal, addition, rearrangement and other interventions to the physical structure and layout of heritage structures and sites of heritage significance in accordance with international best practice.</li><li>Review key conservation issues requiring attention and cooperate in prioritizing plans to address those issues and provide required suggestions.</li><li>Co-manage the building and implementation of national awareness initiatives and programs concerning the great values of the heritage in line with NEOM’s strategy of preserving and activating the rich heritage in NEOM Region.</li><li>Lead the Development of standards for the conservation and monitoring of cultural heritage sites.</li><li>Provide authorization to carry out conservation missions and monitor the work of all projects in coordination with Site Management.</li><li>Lead and oversee all preventive, interceptive, and emergency conservation programs and initiatives in order to support and achieve the optimum preservation of heritage &amp; cultural sites.</li><li>Lead and monitor the reviewing and delivering processes of conservation projects from scoping through to methodology and report writing in addition to provide suggestion about research techniques including fieldwork.</li><li>Review the scientific analyses and the preparation of publications related to the conservation and provide the required input in order to improve the scientific analysis level.</li><li>Review reports, presentations and summaries regarding the main achievements of conservation for preserving and activating the rich heritage in NEOM Region.</li><li>Stay abreast of the international best practices in the field of cultural heritage conservation and heritage site management ensure the implementation and adopting the suitable activities according to the department strategies.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Qualifications And Experience.</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Heritage Conservation or Heritage Management (Masters Preferred)</li><li>8 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a managerial role.</li><li>Written and Oral English language proficiency.</li></ul>
