Job Description
<p><strong><em>Voyage Execution:</em></strong><em> Being fully responsible for executing voyages fixed by the Chartering Team, which would encompass planning, coordinating, and managing all the dry bulk operations, ensuring the most efficient use of resources, and prioritizing safety and environmental considerations.</em></p><p><strong><em>Constant Communication:</em></strong><em> Maintaining constant contact with ship’s staff, port agents, ship owners, and clients. This is key for coordination and ensuring all stakeholders are updated about the status of voyages.</em></p><p><strong><em>Dispute Avoidance and Voyage Optimization:</em></strong><em> Pre-empting potential disputes and ensuring the voyage is executed safely, while also minimizing voyage costs to maximize voyage results. This would involve risk management on physical voyage and cargo operations and a deep understanding of contract terms and regulations. Calculation of Lay time and demurrages of voyages along with follow ups. </em></p><p><strong><em>Vessel Operations:</em></strong><em> Ensuring the safe and smooth day-to-day operations of chartered vessels. This includes coordinating cargo intakes, maximizing stowage, issuing instructions to ship’s masters, and appointing local agents/port captains.</em></p><p><strong><em>Bunker Supply and Performance Monitoring:</em></strong><em> Coordinating bunker supply and monitoring the voyage performance of vessels, ensuring operations are proceeding as planned and taking corrective actions if needed. Engaging and verifying weather routing company to vet the voyage and liaise with ship owners / operators accordingly. </em></p><p><strong><em>Port Information Management: </em></strong><em>Providing updated port information and congestion status, including highlighting any possibilities of loss in terms of time/efficiency.</em></p><p><strong><em>Agent Appointment and Bill of Lading Management:</em></strong><em> Appointing local agents and working with them in respect of issuance, release, and collection of Bills of Lading, a critical document in shipping and logistics.</em></p><p><strong><em>Liaison with Ship’s Master:</em></strong><em> Regular interaction with ships’ masters on voyage performance, cargo intakes, cargo operations, and vessel safety issues, ensuring the ship is being operated optimally and safely.</em></p><p><strong><em>Legal Coordination: </em></strong><em>Liaising with the Legal Department and P&I Clubs in case of any potential disputes, working proactively to address any legal issues that might arise.</em></p><p><strong><em>Reporting and Performance Control:</em></strong><em> Providing the Chartering Team with voyage Profit & Loss statements at the end of each voyage and any notes for improving the results for subsequent voyages on such routes. This responsibility also includes supporting the Chartering team in performance control and reporting. </em></p><p><em> </em><strong><em>Softwares:</em></strong><em> Data entry in IMOS or excel sheet as required for day-to-day work and business needs.</em></p><p></p>
