On July 3, 2017, SNC-Lavalin acquired Atkins, one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies.<br><br>We are hiring for Senior Contracts Engineer based in Abu Dhabi office to generally, review and maintain knowledge of Terms and Conditions of all contracts. Identify and report potential problem areas, particularly those that are likely to give rise to claims.<br><br>Generally, monitor and report on the progress of all contracts. Flag issues that might result in delay or claim and advise the project manager of any risks that will affect the overall timely delivery of the project or significant cost escalation or potential opportunities for cost reduction. Provide proactive advice so as to minimize claim and delay.<br><br><strong><u>Key Responsibilities<br><br></u></strong><strong>Major Functions: <br><br></strong><strong>Prime Contract<br></strong><ul><li>Contractually Administer the Prime Contract and assisting to meet the Client’s deliverable expectations</li><li>Provide Contractual guidance and support to the Projects Manager and Projects Director.</li><li>Coordinate with all internal functions and groups with regards to schedule, growth, change, cost, and contract procedural requirements.</li><li>Liaise with Projects Controls for claims assessment and evaluation.</li><li>Management of all contractual matters related to Prime Contracts including Claims, Bank Guarantees, Insurances, etc.</li><li>Maintain records of company insurances on projects.</li><li>Coordination and control of all contractual communications.</li><li>Maintain comprehensive filing system.<br></li></ul><strong>Sub-Contract<br></strong><ul><li>Formulate contract plan and master Project Tender Document.</li><li>Prequalify bidders and prepare project bidders lists and bid packages.</li><li>Co-ordinate and prepare bid evaluations and recommendations in conjunction with the construction and engineering disciplines and Project Controls.</li><li>Draft and prepare contracts for award to successful bidder.</li><li>Issue and co-ordinate construction contract change notices and negotiate Changes where required.</li><li>Assist the engineering department in the follow-up of submittals required from the subcontractor to submit as per its Contractual obligations.</li><li>Ensure that all parties fulfill their obligations.</li><li>Process progress payment applications.</li><li>Evaluate and negotiate scope changes and claims from subcontractors.</li><li>Maintain complete contract files.</li><li>Activate close-out of the contracts.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Requirements<br></u></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering</li><li>Minimum 10 years’ experience of similar work with progressively increasing responsibility.</li><li>Preferred candidate with GCC experience on major Infrastructure projects.</li><li>Candidates must be proficient in English both written and oral.</li><li>MRICS & MCIARB are preferred.<br></li></ul><strong>Technical Knowledge<br></strong><ul><li>Contracts Management</li><li>Tender Management</li><li>Change Management</li><li>Computer software – MS Excel, MS Word, etc.<br></li></ul><strong><u>Rewards & Benefits<br><br></u></strong><strong>We offer an excellent package which includes:<br></strong><ul><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Transportation allowance</li><li>Annual leave</li><li>Medical insurance cover</li><li>Company gratuity scheme</li><li>Discretionary bonus scheme</li><li>Annual flight allowance to point of origin</li><li>Employee Assistance Program – 24-hour free advice on financial, legal, and family care specialists and access to personal health, fitness, and nutrition consultants.</li></ul>
