Interoperable and secure information and telecommunications systems for defence, security and aerospace, are based upon innovative use of radiocommunications, networks, and cybersecurity.<br><br>The Defense Service Center (DSC) in Egypt is hiring skilled staff in different technical and technological domains to respond to our customers’ needs in services and support and constitute a professional services base for DSC activities and expertise in Egypt.<br><br>The DSC is thus hiring an IT and Networks service engineer. The candidate would join a team of engineers working in direct relationship and support of our Ministry of Defense customers and end-users in various technical and technological domains in the areas of expertise of Thales. He/she will work on service projects in the area of IT and Networks troubleshooting and services delivered during their warranty and after-warranty service contracts to ensure optimal operation of customer equipment and systems.<br><br>The candidate should be having the following profile.<br><br><strong>Roles &amp; Responsibilities<br><br></strong>Satellite Ground segment activities<br><ul><li>d’apporter une expertise réseau de manière transverse sur différents projets</li><li>Intervenir sur des problématiques réseaux et/ou sécurité sur nos différents projets<br><br></li></ul>Customer’s Central Workshop activities<br><ul><li>The candidate will also be responsible for working in close relationship with the customer’s central workshop staff to resolve pending technical issues for maintenance and repair.</li><li>He/She will participate to workshops held between Thales Business Lines (BL) and customers representing the DSC, and participate to local activities to support BLs in achieving action plans, in following-up with the customer and deploying actions on behalf of the BL locally.</li><li>The candidate will also ensure reporting to BLs on action plans and liaise with BL PoCs for follow-up and information concerning customer’s requests and equipment status.</li><li>He/She will also participate in developing service proposals to support and advise the customer in modernizing their workshops.</li><li>This candidate will also ensure some of the trainings necessary for customer’s staff in their environment.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Work Experience Requirements<br></strong><ul><li>At least 5 years’ experience as a Network Engineer practitioner</li><li>Advanced/certified knowledge in IP communication networks (Cisco, VoIP/CME, routing, QoS, multicast)</li><li>Advanced knowledge in IT administration and architecture (IT monitoring, AD, DNS, AV, storage, backup, etc.)</li><li>Advanced knowledge in network security (firewalling, VPN, IPSEC, etc.) </li><li>Experience with configuring and troubleshooting PIM SM Multicast routing. </li><li>Experience managing/integrating multi-vendor networks, troubleshooting, identifying and resolving issues.</li><li>Experience in configuring network monitoring tools. </li><li>High level planning and time-management skills.</li><li>Ability to write clear, concise documents containing technical detail.</li><li>Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively.</li><li>Excellent customer and Thales entities relationships </li><li>Good team player.</li><li>Mandatory: Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking). </li><li> Egyptian driving license. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualification, Certification &amp; Educational Requirements<br></strong><ul><li>BSC or equivalent diploma in computer science and networking, electronics and/or telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Skills<br><br></strong>The following skills would be a plus:<br><ul><li>Systems engineering experience in the area of IT, Networks design, Integration and Testing.</li><li>Technical support experience.</li><li>Fluent French (reading, writing, speaking).</li><li>Existing or passed military clearance.<br><br></li></ul>At Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
