<p><strong>Position: Manager – Investments (Logistics Sector)</strong></p><p><strong>Business Unit: Economic Diversification Investments</strong></p><p><strong>Reports to: Senior Manager – Investments (Food, Fisheries &amp; Logistics) </strong></p><p><strong>Announcement Closing date: 25 July 2023</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>JOB PURPOSE:</strong></p><p>To develop, oversee and divest OIA’s local companies in the Logistics sectors in order to align their objectives with OIA’s goals and ensure all respective measures are taken to drive exceptional performance in order to unlock value by target divestment period.</p><p><br></p><p><strong> Key Roles &amp; Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Contribute to the development of the Logistics’ strategy as cascaded down from the Food, Fisheries &amp; Logistics departmental’ s strategy and oversee its implementation and its operations, to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing entities’ strategies across OIA.</li><li>Manage the Logistics’ team of direct and indirect reports through effective recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning, in order to maximize team performance and achieve Logistics’ objectives.</li><li>Manage the Logistics’ daily operations by providing expertise, enabling teamwork, and aligning processes, in order to achieve high performance standards and meet established targets.</li><li>Ensure Alignment of OIA companies operating in the Logistic sectors with the country’s diversification objectives to make sure that the subsidiaries are reflecting OIA’s strategies and maximizing overall value for Oman.</li><li>Provide strategic guidance to OIA companies of the Logistics sectors along with their boards and refine companies’ strategic objectives and KPIs to ensure their alignment with the sectors goals targeted in Vision 2040.</li><li>Ensure continuous alignment and coordination with Rawabet directorate to drive synergies and empower the identified initiatives across the Logistics’ companies.</li><li>Manage the Investment and sector development initiatives being through new investments, capital projects, specific initiatives or strategic partnerships, etc. to support OIA companies in maximizing their returns/value.</li><li>Landscape the sector gaps and work with OIA teams, stakeholders and partners to structure and develop investments that maximize OIA, FDI and In Country Value.</li><li>Manage the development and negotiation of each stage of the transaction process, from Initial deal structuring to the holding period and through the exit process, to ensure that OIA’s interests are being protected, optimized, and offered the best terms possible, while maintaining good relationships with counterparties on deals.</li><li>Oversee the privatization and divestment mandates for companies operating in the Logistics sectors and support their alternative funding strategies to maintain and safeguard the investment maximum value.</li><li>Oversee the rights of OIA as a shareholder at OIA Logistics companies which includes approving budgets, business plans, debt acquisition, investments, divestments, etc. to ensure proper management of shareholder reserved matters as per OIA’s governance guidelines.</li><li>Develop and execute stakeholder management plan including both the respective companies and external stakeholders, such as policy makers, sector regulators, MOF, related entities, etc. to foster the stakeholders’ involvement.</li><li>Maintain awareness of the Logistics sector developments in addition to continuous communication with the key stakeholders to stay well informed about the latest trends, develop and de-risk projects, enable foreign and local private sector and SME participating, and enhance In-Country Value.</li><li>Manage the periodic review and monitoring of operational and financial performance of OIA companies operating in Logistics sectors and maintain overall understanding of the landscape in which the companies are operating including the sector developments and the sector’s regulatory framework to stay abreast of the investments’ performance, be able to support the companies’ directors, and provide the Investment MIS &amp; TS directorate with the required inputs.</li><li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on each portfolio company to communicate it with the concerned internal parties.</li><li>Manage the development, communication and implementation of the Logistics’ policies and procedures to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are clearly communicated and duly fulfilled.</li><li>Manage Logistics’ compliance to all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.</li><li>Manage the contribution to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘leading best practices’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Educational Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li> Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or any other relevant field</li><li>Master’s degree is a plus</li><li> Preferable CFA, CMA, CPA, FMVA, FRM</li><li> 11 to 13 years of related work experience, with a minimum of 6 years of deep technical experience in Logistics sector.</li><li>Hands on sector regulatory framework with experience in Investment banking/ private equity/ project finance</li><li>Fluency in English is essential</li><li>Fluency in Arabic is advantageous</li><li>Proficiency in MS Office is essential (especially Excel and PowerPoint)</li><li>Experience with business related software is desirable</li></ul>
