Job Description

<p><strong><u>Role Objective:</u></strong></p><p><br></p><p>The incumbent will support the Department Head IT Infrastructure &amp; Operations in maintaining policy, managing technical support, overseeing capacity planning and implementation of enhancements of bank-wide Network and servers, including but not limited to Windows, Linux and UNIX operating systems. The job holder will be responsible for resilience and high-availability of all hardware and operating systems related to Network and servers including international infrastructure and ensure maintenance of stable and reliable network environments by efficient usage of resources, timely resolution of operating incidents/problems, and effective implementation of system applications adhering to standard operating procedures to meet the Bank’s business and functional needs and the Department’s commitments.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>STRATEGIC</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Contribute towards the formulation/implementation of overall department strategy /goals and align Network &amp; Servers section towards the same.</li><li>Work closely with the Dept. Head in development of and oversee effective implementation of Network &amp; Servers strategies and roadmaps to enhance the functional capabilities, in line with the overall DS&amp;IT strategies/goals.</li><li>Update self on the regulatory requirements/changes set by QCB and other relevant government bodies and initiate adequate changes within the function /organization, pertaining to Network &amp; Servers.</li><li>Support the Department Head in optimizing Costs and ROI in terms of Network &amp; Servers investments.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>OPERATIONAL</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Oversee development and implementation of policies &amp; procedures for the Network &amp; Servers function to ensure efficient and flawless operations.</li><li>Lead and monitor the development of streamlined work processes related to different units within the section in line with industry best practices and approved policy parameters.</li><li>Oversee the team and work cross-functionally in delivering scalable solutions to meet business needs related to Network &amp; Servers across Bank wide functions.</li><li>Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems and recommend appropriate architecture for Network / server hardware, operating systems to ensure proper functioning of corresponding middleware and application systems.</li><li>Oversee the research, planning, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance and upgrade of hardware and software interfaces with the operating system.</li><li>Analyze and evaluate the present or proposed business application systems and procedures and/or potential problems to ensure efficient and highly available business application systems.</li><li>Oversee to ensure up-to-date documentation and maintenance, including flow charts and network diagrams, server architecture outlining systems capabilities and processes.</li><li>Manage Target SLA Adherence and supervise troubleshooting and resolution hardware, software and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration. Oversee to ensure documentation of system problems and resolutions for future reference.</li><li>Manage Monitoring &amp; Preventive Maintenance, including monitoring of performance, errors and resource usages and proactively resolve the issues detected during the monitoring and through periodic maintenance activities.</li><li>Manage Enterprise servers, Security Administration, Intrusion Detection, Intrusion Prevention, MS security patching in coordination with the respective DS&amp;IT stakeholders.</li><li>Monitor the team in following CAB change management/control procedures with respect to IT Network &amp; Servers deliverables/ projects.</li><li>Monitor KPIs and budget pertaining to Network &amp; Servers section and identify and report on areas for improvement to the reporting authorities in a timely manner.</li><li>Oversee timely preparation/submission of MIS/periodic reporting in relation to Network &amp; Servers section, for management review.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Required Education/Experience:</u></strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>University graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or any other related technical discipline.</li><li>Master’s degree in Management/ Technology any other related discipline will be an added advantage.</li><li>10-15 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline.</li><li>Experience in planning and managing network &amp; server hardware platforms </li><li>Experience in Server Security, network administration Exchange Server administration and Disaster Recovery Planning</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Certifications:</u></strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Professional certification in Server/ Network domain (MCSE/MCSA)</li><li>Professional certification such as ITIL is preferable</li></ul>
