Job Description
Analytics Engineer (Health Catalyst, Inc.; South Jordon, UT): The Analytics Engineer role combines analytics skills and a sound understanding of the processes and data that support the business of healthcare to inform a fundamental transformation of healthcare delivery as we know it today. The primary accountability of the AE is to ensure there is always a queue of measurable opportunities for our clients to act upon that will drive down cost, improve quality, and improve patient experience. Specific responsibilities include leveraging Health Catalyst software and technologies to perform varied analyses to support client outcomes improvement initiatives across clinical, operational, and financial domains; designing data models and visualizations that meet project requirements and comply with Health Catalyst design standards and principles; ensuring assigned projects are executed efficiently and according to project requirements and timelines; performing data validation tests to ensure quality of measurement; working with client data architects to train and mentor on\ Health Catalyst tools and methodologies; and completing all other duties as assigned. Analytics Engineers are also expected to: interpret data output from augmented intelligent statistical tools (R, Python, etc.) to create data stories that lead to client measurable outcomes; uncover analytic insights and present findings to client stakeholders to support and/or create SMART Goal projects; define performance and control metrics and chart these metrics over a period, usually the prior 24 months; teach clients how to utilize data science algorithms that display forecasting and Scientific Process Control (SPC) metrics to correctly interpret variance and trends; and identify analytic insights using trends, metrics and variances, then present these insights to clients in such a way that will lead to measurable outcomes. Telecommuting permitted from\ anywhere in the United States.<p><br></p><strong>Minimum requirements</strong>: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Math, Statistics, or a Business-related field plus 2 years of experience in technology or technology-related field.<p><br></p><strong>Must have</strong>: Intermediate level in Structured Query Language (SQL); experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and concepts; experience designing, implementing, and loading custom data models that reflect real-world problems; experience delivering analytics to technical, non-technical and management teams that influence and support business strategy; experience developing visualizations that consume data models for non-technical user; effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills; strong ability to understand, interact with, and communicate with all levels of employees and clients; and ability to be self- motivated, comfortable working under general direction.
