The Medical Laboratory Department at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced candidate for the role of Cytoscreener. The ideal candidate will share our commitment to upholding our core values and putting our patients first.<p><br></p>Expiry:2023-07-21Minimum Experience:4 years<p><br></p>Posted 13 hours ago<p><br></p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Determines competency to perform laboratory activities assigned to perform.</li><li>Participates in training and orientation of new staff / trainee and ensuring their abidance to the rules and policies as applied and implemented in the Section / Department / Facility (as per requirement).</li><li>Carries out other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Senior Supervisor.</li><li>Operate equipment in the correct manner including, maintenance, calibration, QC, proper recording, troubleshooting, and inform Supervisor / Senior Supervisor of any malfunction. Ensure proper documentation.</li><li>Participates in equipment method validation, establish QC, writing SOP’s / procedure and other section activities / initiatives / continues improvement measure.</li><li>Prepares and complete SOPs.</li><li>Maintain sufficient inventory of material supplies for daily work and report shortage of materials to Supervisor / Senior Supervisor at earliest convenience in appropriate format. Ordering and approving the replenishment when necessary. Follow the Lab reagent / consumables policy.</li><li>Participates in proficiency testing program and implement the program as required including, receiving, processing, release of results and corrective action.</li><li>Attends / read the section meeting and comply with outcome actions as required.</li><li>Maintains and follow quality control procedures including trouble shooting and initiate corrective actions.</li><li>Analysis of samples, review, report / release of results.</li><li>Complies with the quality control programs and procedures including SOP (standard operation procedures) and Quality Assurance programs for Laboratory and SSMC hospital including accreditation activities.</li><li>Identifies, acts on and report incidents and participate in investigations as assigned.</li><li>Participates in quality assessment and quality improvement activities such as internal audit, risk identification, KPI and other activities.</li><li>Participates in accreditation preparation as required.</li><li>Oversees KPIs activities such as data collection, corrective actions, etc.</li><li>Responds and react to stakeholders’ concern and complaint report and participate in corrective actions.</li><li>Completes all mandatory programs assigned by the hospital, Lab department and section specific including training and competency testing.</li><li>Complies with assigned hospital, Lab department and section specific plans, policies and procedures.</li><li>Maintains and follow professional and effective communication with patients, family and other medical personnel including accurate handover for other staff.</li><li>Adheres to the requirement of the occupational health / policies and procedures and Laboratory quality assurance program.</li><li>Performs on-call and shift duties as assigned, including weekends, public holidays and during disaster.</li><li>Screen and report Negative gynecology cases</li><li>Screen Non-gynecology cases<br><br></li></ul> <strong>Educational Qualification:</strong> Required:<p><br></p><ul><li>BSc in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification requiring not less than 3 years training course.<br><br></li></ul> OR<p><br></p><ul><li>Graduate of an accredited (MLT) program leading to registration with ASCP / ASCLS / CSMLS / AIMS or fellowship of IBMS or other recognized institutions by the International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory sciences (IFBLS)<br><br></li></ul> And<p><br></p><ul><li>Current National License</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Experience Required</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>4 years relevant experience in cytoscreening</li></ul>
