<strong><u>Job Description</u></strong><p><br></p>About the Company<p><br></p>Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply.<p><br></p>Purpose of the Job<p><br></p>Represent the Subject matter expert (technical authority TA2) for Behaviour Based Safety (H&amp;M) across the whole company.<p><br></p>Sets and maintains the minimum standard for H&amp;M process and tools in the Company<p><br></p>Develop and coordinates (Hearts and Minds) training across the Company<p><br></p>Provide seasoned professional advice and coaching to senior Line management and line staff both in PDO and its contractors in building a stronger HSE Culture with the Hearts and Minds (H&amp;M) strategy. Impart consultation on Hearts and Minds tools and drive their implementation with a “bottoms up” approach. Provide focus to PDO on Personal responsibility, Individual Consequences and Proactive Interventions.<p><br></p>Education &amp; Experience<p><br></p><ul><li>Have a BSc in Engineering, Science or Humanity fields. Be a good communicator. Some background knowledge in Human Sciences and Human Factors will be an advantage or other related discipline in combination with: </li><li>A minimum of 7 years experience in an Oil and Gas Company of which a minimum of three years experience in providing HSE advice in an Oil and Gas Company, </li><li>Or a person without a university degree but with the following:</li><li>NEBOSH diploma</li><li>A minimum of 10 years experience in an Oil and Gas Industry of which</li><li>A minimum of 5 yrs experience in providing HSE advice</li><li>A self-starter and able to work with limited supervision. Strong communication skills in a multi cultural environment and recognized Hearts and Minds experience are essential, as the incumbent must have high ‘standing’ in his field and gain the respect of senior management and the line.</li></ul><p><br></p>Proven interest and ability in the application of behavioral science to improve HSE performance and development of communication means for conveying HSE messages to shop floor level staff. Ability to identify, get senior management approval for and implement hardware and psychological solutions to change workforce behaviours.<p><br></p>Main Responsibilities<p><br></p><ul><li>Develop initiatives through BBS to improve and sustain HSE Culture at the corporate level, get approval, implement and monitor effectiveness.</li><li>Develop systems and means supporting the (HSE) management of Behavioral Based Safety.</li><li>Provide professional advice to all levels within PDO and Contractor Companies on hearts and minds and BBS.</li><li>Develop and introduce promotional material (publications, videos and other material) aimed at improving HSE Culture in PDO and contractor operations.</li><li>Enabling PDO and Contractor to make optimum use of Hearts&amp; Minds and BBS tool.</li><li>Maintain a set of tools and workshop materials to effectively introduce BBS in PDO and Contractor</li><li>Advertise methods used and successes; introduce proven BBS tools in PDO and Contractor e.g. through workshops.</li><li>Identify BBS champions across PDO’s assets and train, coach and monitor them</li><li>Assist Contractors in developing plans for embarking on the BBS journey.</li><li>Assess whether Contractors use tools correctly/optimally and continuously refine the BBS tool</li><li>Analyze accident investigation reports and safety statistics and respond proactively to maintain continuous improvement.</li><li>Assist in the investigation and reporting of Category 1 PDO and Contractor all accidents and, as requested, in Category 2, 3 and 4 incidents.</li><li>Initiate and co-ordinate research and development activities to support PDO’s long term HSE Culture objectives.</li><li>Enhance Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) initiatives at the corporate level, which will help in achieving sustained improvement in the safety performance of PDO and Contractors with the ultimate goal of preventing all serious accidents.</li><li>Deliver behavioral safety trainings to audiences both in coastal and the field.</li><li>Conduct coaching sessions at coastal and the field</li><li>Conduct sustainability reviews &amp; assesssing progress of projects Measure against success criteria’s of the project.</li><li>Conduct health checks against contractors.</li><li>Implemente continuous improvement measures</li><li>Communicate &amp; presenting feedback across the organization.</li><li>Govern the database</li><li>Conduct quality checks on data entry.</li><li>Conduct trend analysis &amp; generate reports.</li><li>Develop guidelines &amp; procedures</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Skills Required</u></strong><p><br></p>Other Job Details
