<strong><u>Job Description</u></strong><p><br></p>About the Company<p><br></p>Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply.<p><br></p>Purpose of the Job<p><br></p>Digital HSE Lead will be part of the Digitalization Transformation Leadership &amp; Deployment Team jointly with the Digital Center of Excellence (DCoE) Team.<p><br></p>Provide expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and HSE practices in order to assist and be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights, enabling organisation to proactively manage risks, enhance compliance, and foster a culture of safety.<p><br></p>To utilize knowledge of data analysis techniques, statistical modeling, and visualization tools to extract meaningful insights from HSE data, identify trends, and proactively address potential risks and compliance issues. By effectively analyzing and interpreting data. This is in order to provide input to organization to support the development and implementation of proactive HSE strategies, optimize operational processes, and contribute to the overall well-being of employees, the environment, and the organization as a whole.<p><br></p>Focal point for supporting any project related to IT data management tool, AI systems or tool that will support effective HSE data integration or HSE data analytical.<p><br></p>Education &amp; Experience<p><br></p><ul><li> Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Environmental Sciences, or Occupational Health and Safety. Additional certifications in data analytics or HSE management are desirable.</li><li> Proven experience (A minimum of 10 years) as Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role, preferably in a high-risk industry and Experience with statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and machine learning techniques.</li><li> Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and statistical analysis software.</li><li> Knowledge of HSE principles, regulations, and industry standards.</li><li> Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate HSE insights.</li><li> Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.</li><li> Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li> Knowledge of data governance and data management practices.</li></ul><p><br></p>Main Responsibilities<p><br></p><ul><li> Digitalization Transformation Leadership: Work with Digitalization Transformation owner (respective Director) and their leadership team, to establish a Digitalization Transformation agenda for the directorate. This includes understanding current Digitalization maturity level, directorate strategic goals, objective and priorities, and lead the directorate’s efforts in the development of PDO’s Digital Ambition and it periodic reviews, ensuring continuous and active directorate alignment. This entails appropriate stakeholder management, creating alignment &amp; buy-in, and coaching &amp; guiding to drive the effective realization of PDO’s Digital Ambition.</li><li> Digitalization Capability Development: In liaison with the respective stakeholders and development &amp; competency owners; grow and develop directorate Digitalization capability to become proficient with Digitalization concepts and deployment requirements.</li><li> Digitalization Pathfinders &amp; Accelerators Delivery: Lead, run, and/or become member of the Digitalization Pathfinders &amp; Accelerators Steering Committees to ensure Digitalization &amp; Agile methods are adopted &amp; embedded so Pathfinders &amp; Accelerators are delivered on time, value created, sustained, and replicated. Pathfinders &amp; Accelerators will be of different categories and executed in different business areas within or across directorates to facilitate the realization of PDO’s Digital Ambition and roadmap.</li><li> Digitalization Transformation Coordination: Coordinate Digitalization deployment activities and execution within directorate and across the value streams as and when applicable, providing support to the Digital Center of Excellence Team, Pathfinder, &amp; Accelerator Agile teams and Change Management champions.</li><li> Digitalization Dashboards, KPIs, and Reporting: Establish relevant overall benchmarks/metrics and reporting on Digitalization Transformation progress in respective directorate covering all dimensions, such the Pathfinders &amp; Accelerators delivery, Digitalization development programs, Digitalization capacities, and capabilities (muscle/DNA) building, Change Management programs and Digitalization success stories.</li><li> Develop and implement data-driven strategies: Collaborate with HSE and cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and identify data requirements to support HSE initiatives and goals.</li><li> Data collection and analysis: Gather, clean, and validate HSE data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Apply advanced analytical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and correlations, providing valuable insights into HSE performance.</li><li> Statistical modeling and predictive analytics: Utilize statistical modeling techniques and machine learning algorithms to develop predictive models for assessing and forecasting HSE risks. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and reports to monitor HSE metrics and indicators.</li><li> Continuous improvement: Identify areas for improvement in HSE practices, processes, and systems based on data analysis. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement improvements and measure their impact on HSE performance.</li><li> Stakeholder engagement: Communicate HSE data findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders, including HSE teams, senior management, and operational staff, using clear and concise reports, visualizations, and presentations.</li><li> Stay abreast of industry trends: Keep up-to-date with advancements in data analysis techniques, technology tools, and HSE best practices.
